Laura Linney is an American actress who is popular for her portrayal of powerful but fragile characters. Born to a well-known playwright father, but raised by a single mother who worked by working as a nurse. She began to take an interest in theater while spending summers with her father, eventually studying acting, first at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. After two years of the graduation, she began her Broadway career. A few years later, she was in the world of television. In the years since she's been in many film, TV as well as stage productions. During her career she received many awards, including the two Golden Globe Awards. Though she was awarded numerous prizes through the years, performing is always her main passion.
