Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four sisters, was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Her parents, dentists as well as a teacher at school, supported and encouraged her early interest in theatre and drama. It was her initial desire to become a master monkey was eclipsed by her wish to study theater and drama. A quick and successful start to success as well as a swift gain in acclaim made her a promising young actor. After her graduation in 1998, she was a participant in an French talent-scouting TV programme Jeunes Premiers with the support of Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before beginning the journey to become an actor. Tautou has attended the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris in her youth as well as attended the school and has publicly disavowed her Catholic education. As well as her acting profession she began a modeling career. It is her turn to be the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and often called The Chanel Muse. Photography is also her passion and she recently exhibited her work in the Arles festival under the name Superficial. The photographs she takes focuses a lot on the spotlight and celebrity. The camera's focus is at journalists who have been scrutinising the actress following her sudden triumph. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame when she landed her debut role as the lead in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie has been a worldwide box office smash and was recognized by numerous awards shows across the globe. It remains the highest grossing French language film to be released in the US. After this huge success, Tautou went on to star in several films, such as British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
